Tsukiji Fish Market
October 01 2008 – Julie Marabelle

We woke up at 5am this morning to go to Tokyo Tusukiji Fish Market. It is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the World! The market opens most mornings at 3am with the arrival of the products by ship, truck and plane from all over the world.
The market handles more than 400 types of seafood from tiny shrimps to 300kg tuna, from cheap seaweed to the most expensive caviar.
It's all very hectic but great fun. Thousands of little fish stalls squashed together passed by fast moving little transporters carrying still flapping fish.
We opted against the fish breakfast.....

so fantastic! Enjoy your wonderful trip and much inspiration to you on the way!
Hi Leslie The backpack is made by a company called deuter which I think is German. It’s very comfortable – we took it to the mountains this summer and did a few climbs with Ophelia on my back! It was very useful in the busy fish market…
