NYC papercut 2

This is my latest paper cut map, designed and cut over the Summer. New York City has to be one of my favorite cities (obviously after Paris and London!). I went there for the first time with my best friend more than 10 years ago, Simon did the New York marathon which was an incredible experience and then we came back for our honeymoon while Ophelia was a very tiny bump in my belly. I did a lot of research on the place before starting to draw the different areas. I preferred to focus on the lower part of Manhattan where you replace most of the tourist attractions and the Brooklyn border. I have such nice memories of Brooklyn that I really wanted to incorporate it in the design. Here are some images of the original piece. The prints will be in 2 alternative colours (night blue and plum) and are being printed as we speak. They will be available really soon over on our site. Let me know what you think!?

ooooh so quick, and such a productive summer. I showed my husband just last week and he was quite impressed too, so London and NYC are on my wishlist for this Christmas. I have to admit I was looking forward to taxicab yellow for NYC (actually I would LOVE black on yellow) , but I will learn to live with the blue LOL!

Yaaaaaaay! A friend just sent me a link to your London and Paris maps tonight, and I asked her if there is a NY one (but she didn’t know). If Paris were available in turquoise, I might get that, but NY in blue works fabulously!
